CSCDHH and DBSC jointly presents Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). Co-sponsored by Internal Revenue Service and American Association of Retired Persons. VITA helps people prepare basic tax returns for: low and fixed income; individuals with disabilities; non-English speaking; and elderly.

Dates and Times: Thursday, March 12, 1998 from 6pm to 9pm (Deadline for SSP is March 5th); Tuesday, March 24, 1998 from 3pm to 6pm (Deadline for SSP is March 17th); and Tuesday, March 31, 1998 from 6pm to 9pm (Deadline for SSP is March 24th) at CSCDHH, Laurent Clerc Hall, 1609 - 19th Avenue, Seattle. Stop by the front desk or call (206) 568-1234 TTY to reserve a time slot.

Bring: 1997 tax package and/or label form from Internal Revenue Service; all forms (W-2 and 1099's); information for other income; information for all deductions / credits; and a copy of last year's return. There will be no charge for the service.

For those who are of low income, your interpreter arrangement can be covered by City of Seattle Block Grant. If you have not applied for Block Grant, please do so as soon as possible. For those who do not qualify for Block Grant, please let us know so we can arrange for volunteer interpreters. For SSPs or other special needs, please contact CSCDHH one week before your appointment.

Be advised that appointment time is not guaranteed. It will depend on how many tax preparers show up on those nights. May have to change to first come first serve basis.
